Lettuce Wraps
Serves 4.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 white onion, finely diced
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger (optional)
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp sriracha
- 8 oz whole water chestnuts, drained and diced (optional)
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced (optional)
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 head, butter lettuce
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned, crumbling as you go (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in garlic, onions, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, ginger, sesame oil, sugar, and sriracha. Stir occasionally, cook until onions are soft and translucent (~2 min).
- Stir in chestnuts, sliced onions, salt/pepper, and heat for an additional minute.
- Spoon 3-4 tablespoons onto the center of each lettuce leaf and enjoy.
