Ingredients
- 2 c warm milk
- 1 1/2 tbsp yeast
- 1/4 c brown sugar
- 8 tbsp butter, melted
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 1/4 c flour
- 1/3 c baking soda
- 3 c warm water
- 1/2 c sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm milk. When the mixture is bubbly, mix in brown sugar, 4 tbsp butter, one cup flour, salt, and mix until combined.
- Add remaining flour one cup at a time, mix until sticky dough forms.
- Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let rise for one hour until dough has doubled in size.
- After it’s risen, preheat oven to 450. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper, set aside. Divide the dough into twelve pieces, roll into long skinny rope. Twist into a pretzel shape.
- In a medium bowl, mix together warm water and baking soda until dissolved. Dip each pretzel into baking soda mixture and place on baking sheets. Bake 7-11 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together sugar and cinnamon. Brush pretzels with remaining melted butter, dip them in cinnamon sugar mixture.
